Byron Bay distillery Brookie’s has announced the 2024 release of its award-winning Barrel Aged Mac. Liqueur.
Crowned the world’s best macadamia nut liqueur at the World Drink Awards for four years running (2020 – 2023) this year’s release has been resting in American oak, ex-bourbon casks for several months. The result is a nuanced liqueur featuring flavours of crème brûlée, caramel and macadamia nut.
“Our journey with Mac. Liqueur has been one of continuous discovery and refinement,” said Eddie Brook, co-founder and distiller. “Mac. showcases the macadamia and exploring fun ways to innovate with spirits and the 2024 release of Barrel Aged Mac. is a testament to that commitment.
“At Brookie’s we believe that good things take time. The extended aging process of Barrel Aged Mac. has an incredible richness and sophistication that sets it apart, making it the perfect choice for connoisseurs seeking a truly exceptional drinking experience.”
Just 300 bottles have been released. Brookie’s suggests sipping it like a digestif after a long lunch, stirring in over some ice with whisky and bitters for a refined Old-Fashioned or shake it with some espresso and serving it up martini style.
Brookie’s Barrel Aged Mac. Liqueur 2024 release is now available at select retailers, premium bars and online www.capebyrondistillery.com or try it in its natural habitat at the Distillery Cellar Door. It has an ABV of 30% and an RRP of $85 for 700ml.
