Campari Group Australia has announced that Managing Director Simon Durrant is leaving the business.
Durrant, who has been in the role since 2018, has announced his last day with the company will be 10 July 2024.
Campari said in a statement that current Campari Managing Director, Mexico and Central America Jacopo Borsa will replace Durrant (above).
“Jacopo started his Campari career in the marketing department within the Italian Market almost 20 years ago and has subsequently worked across a wide variety of countries and territories in the Group, including Spain, Jamaica, and Mexico,” the company said.
“With his strong experience in RTD, aperitifs as well as the on-trade channel, Jacopo is well positioned to continue the strong growth trajectory of Campari Australia. Jacopo will be relocating to Sydney and will be working with the team on a successful transition.”
Campari said Durrant “has helped to grow the business to become a key player in the Australian market, while continuing to focus on positive cultural development.
“He has also led the office move to North Sydney; achieved consecutive Great Place to Work recognition, steered the company through COVID, and fostered a strong focus on DE&I.
“Under his leadership, there has also been a focus to drive a significant expansion of the portfolio beyond Wild Turkey, with Aperol’s successful association with the Australian Open and the rapid growth of Espolon Tequila and the launch of an RTD being some of the many key highlights of his tenure”.
Campari Asia Pacific CEO Matthijs Kramer, said: “Simon has made a significant impact to the Campari Australian and APAC business and his calm, level-headed, approach will be missed. We wish him well for the future and he’ll always be welcome back at a Campari Bar for an Aperol Spritz or Negroni.”
