XXXX celebrates Queensland for Origin season

XXXX is celebrating its partnership with the NRL’s Queensland Maroons with the return of its ‘XXXX GOLD Pride In Your Origin’ tins for the second year in a row.

Returning to the shelves across all major liquor retailers in Queensland, the limited-edition cans feature a number from 0-9 that can be used to make up one of Queensland’s 447 postcodes.

Lion Head of Marketing – Core Beer Chris Allan said: “Through XXXX’s ongoing partnership with the Queensland Maroons, our brand has had the incredible ability to become an integral part of State of Origin celebrations.

“Last year, the postcode cans were immensely popular and we saw thousands of Queenslanders proudly lining up their postcode to represent their hometown pride. That’s why we decided to bring the cans back, to allow fans to feel connected to players and every other Queenslander who shares the same pride in their origin – whether they are tuning in from a local pub or their living room, everyone shares the same space when it comes to community pride.”

Queensland Maroons lock Patrick Carrigan said: “It’s exciting to have a brand like XXXX supporting Queenslanders beyond the sponsorship with the Queensland Maroons. Bringing back the XXXX cans for a second year is great for all the fans at home to really feel like they are part of the origin series. Knowing we have the support of the entire state cheering us on with a XXXX tin in hand is only going to lead us into another victory!”

QRL General Manager – Commercial and Consumer Engagement Anthony Ireland-Jones said: “We’re looking forward to seeing Queenslanders from all corners of the state proudly displaying their pride in their postcode with the XXXX collectable cans in hand as they cheer on the games this year.

“The response was great last year with many queenslanders connecting with individual players on their shared hometown pride. It will be great to once again spotlight the many different Queensland communities that helped get our players to where they are now.”

The 375ml cans are now available for a limited time in specially marked XXXX GOLD 30-case at major liquor outlets across Queensland, while stocks last.
