Casella to distribute Better Beer brands

Casella Family Brands has taken over distribution of the popular Better Beer brand portfolio following the collapse of Mighty Craft.

Better Beer was Mighty Craft’s remaining interest in beer, the brand it co-founded with The Inspired Unemployed and entrepreneur Nick Cogger.

After months of fighting to recalibrate its business, Mighty Craft went into administration in July 2024.

Better Beer has been hugely successful since its launch in 2021. Mighty Craft’s H1 FY24 report showed Better Beer sales revenue of $26.1 million, a 32% jump from the prior corresponding period.

“We are proud to announce that Casella Family Brands will distribute the Better Beer Company’s brand portfolio in Australia, effective immediately,” Casella said in a statement.

“The Better Beer Company portfolio has been produced at our brewery in Yenda since 2021 and our companies have established a positive and collaborative relationship over the last three years. This is a natural next step in our journey to further accelerate the brand’s momentum in the Australian market.

“In this new agreement, the Better Beer Company will continue to own and manage the brand, dedicating its efforts to strengthening its connection with consumers. We at Casella Family Brands will expand the brand’s presence across both on-trade and off-trade channels to enhance distribution and reach.”
