Iconic Langhorne Creek winemaker Stonyfell has unveiled new release wines alongside a brand and label redesign.
Stonyfell was the first-ever recipient of the Jimmy Watson Trophy and a key player in leading a wine label revolution in Australia that saw the market move away from European influence in the 1960s.
The winery’s original labels developed by renowned Australian label designer Wytt Morro established Stonyfell as a trailblazer, with their innovative use of colour and bottle numbering.
This bold approach, paired with the release of new table wines at a time when fortified wines dominated the market, cemented Stonyfell’s pioneering reputation.
“Stonyfell’s history is a long one— 166 years have passed since its founder, Henry Clarke, purchased the original vineyard in the foothills of Adelaide,” said Stonyfell Brand Manager Kristy Farrell.
“These latest releases reflect our commitment to evolving while honouring Stonyfell’s rich heritage. We are proud to be the custodians of the Stonyfell label and revive a heritage icon that has done so much to set bold new standards that have shaped the wine industry as we know it today. It’s a joy to see Stonyfell continue to thrive and evolve over a century and a half after its inception.”
Stonyfell’s new releases significantly expand its offering, with five distinct wine ranges celebrating the brand’s history: Sparkling, Origination, Waymaker, Garden of Dreams and First Stone.
Traditionally produced in Langhorne Creek, the Stonyfell range now also includes wines from the Adelaide Hills to pay homage to the original winery at the base of the Adelaide Hills.
The updated label design brings contemporary lines, fresh colours and a stylish new Stonyfell logo.
The wines are available now from BWS and Dan Murphy’s, with RRPs starting at $18.
