Celebrity chef Miguel Maestre is launching his new beer RUBIA exclusively at Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular (GABS) in Melbourne on 4-5 April 2025.
RUBIA is described as a vibrant, tropical pale ale packed with zesty Seville orange, mandarin, and melon, crafted with the finest Australian hops for a refreshing, full-flavoured experience.
Maestre says its a perfect match for his paella and he will be present for the duration of the event cooking chicken and chorizo paella for attendees.
“RUBIA is the epitome of a Spanish beer but made in Australia with the best hops in the country and of course as a chef I’m a always in the pursuit of what matching of flavours can work best and RUBIA is the best match for Spanish food,” Maestre said.
Australia’s biggest beer celebration, GABS will also feature a 30-metre-long bar stretched across the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Returning for a 14th year, the celebration shines a light on over 100 of the best breweries and distilleries from across Australia and around the world.
With 120 exclusive brews crafted specifically for the occasion, the event offers a unique opportunity to taste beers that won’t be found anywhere else. Local highlights include breweries such as Molly Rose Brewing, Stomping Ground Brewing, Moon Dog Brewing and Tallboy and Moose.
Daring new beer flavours will include peanut butter stouts, vanilla custard ales, rum barrel-aged stouts, and sour gummi bear IPAs, alongside classic fan favourites.
“We’re proud to be a place where punters can taste cutting-edge, experimental beers and connect with the breweries shaping the future of the industry,” said GABS Festival Managing Director Mike Bray.
“While the event is a celebration of beer, GABS is also a sensory experience, offering everything from live entertainment and interactive activities to gourmet food trucks and masterclasses with leading brewers.”
Ticket holders will also enjoy live music from the Hot Potato Band, live circus acts and stage performances, vendor displays, eating competitions and a silent disco experience.
