Smirnoff declares the return of the shot

Diageo has unveiled Smirnoff Freeze and Smirnoff Fire – a duo of ready-to-shot, flavoured drinks designed to reinvigorate the light spirits category.

The vodka brand said the “category-defying” drinks were developed in collaboration with Australian 18–29-year-olds.

Available in Lemon Freeze and Espresso Fire, the new releases are designed to deliver across three tiers of consumption:

Shot serve

Simple serve

Cocktail serve

Diageo Light Spirits Marketing Manager Madeleine Stockwell said: “We are excited to bring these trend-leading products to market.

“Two bold new additions designed to ignite tastebuds and elevate retail and on-premise beverage offerings. With their flavour-forward profiles, these innovative spirits promise an unforgettable sensorial experience that will delight consumers who are seeking vibrant, memorable drinks with an accessible price point.”

Smirnoff Australia Creative Drinks Specialist Matthew Linklater said: “Smirnoff Freeze and Fire ride the new wave of nostalgic comebacks – more of this please!

“These innovative, yet familiar, products were made with and for Gen Z trendsetters wanting to revisit memory-evoking traditions and rituals with their own twist on the experience. This is the ‘shot-surgence’. With Smirnoff Lemon Freeze and Espresso Fire, Smirnoff has focused on big flavour, great taste, with a sensory punch. It’s a shot, but not as you know it, perfect for any occasion you won’t soon forget!”

Smirnoff Lemon Freeze and Smirnoff Espresso Fire are available at bottle shops, bars and clubs nationwide, with an RRP of $53 for a 700ml bottle.
