Coveted Lark whisky sells for $10,000

One of the most coveted bottles in Lark’s history, LD100, has sold for $10,000 following the release of the distillery’s private museum collection.

The rare offering that included select bottles from founder Bill Lark’s personal archive.

Entered by founders Bill and Lyn Lark into the 2009 World Whiskies Awards, LD100 took home the title of Best Other Single Malt, placing Australian whisky firmly on the global map. Only a single bottle was made publicly available in this release, making it a truly singular piece of Australian distilling history.

Also featured were five bottles of LD30, drawn from one of the earliest casks ever laid down at LARK. Priced at $750 each, these bottles came directly from Bill Lark’s personal collection and were hand-signed by Kristy Lark, complete with their original packaging. Cask #30 remains a significant milestone in the evolution of Tasmanian whisky.

Across 45 individual releases, a total of 180 bottles were made exclusively available to registered members with the majority selling out within the first hour.

There are two releases still available for purchase via the archival event link here

The releases coincide with an exciting year for the Tasmanian distiller, which reported sales of $3.7 million for the three months ending 30 September 2025

Industry icon Stuart Gregor is also preparing to take over as CEO at the start of 2026.
