Tequila Insolente Plata Rosa arrives in Australia

Agave tequila importer Miro has announced the launch of its second unique brand in Australia – Insolente Plata Rosa.

Insolente Plata Rosa is a blush pink tequila that is crafted using a process that has been passed down through four generations. Beginning with the artisanal harvesting of the Blue Weber agave, which is cut only when it reaches the perfect
maturity, the piñas (the heart of the agave) are slowly cooked in stone ovens, where heat transforms the agave’s natural inulin into sweet sugars.

The resulting juice is fermented and double distilled in copper stills before finally resting for for up to 30 days in French oak barrels that once aged red wine, absorbing soft pink tones and subtle fruity notes.

Founded by lifestyle journalist Bianca O’Neill, Miro is a result of her personal passion for tequila, which led her directly to some of Mexico’s oldest and most regarded tequila distilleries.

It was during these travels she realised that Australia was missing a curated offering of unique and high-quality tequilas that were authentically Mexican – many of which would have never been available otherwise.

Each agave spirit is chosen based on their heritage, authenticity, quality and flavour, hand-selected and tightly edited by O’Neill.

“As tequila rises in popularity in Australia, I felt it was finally time to bring some authentic and truly great quality Mexican tequilas to the Australian market,” said O’Neill.

“While many people I meet here at home tell me they don’t drink tequila, I often tell them they haven’t found the right one yet.

“Miro exists as a trusted online destination where you can be certain you’re getting a great quality tequila made from 100% agave without additives, which is going to taste like no tequila you’ve tried before.”

Late last year, Miro launched Inquieto Black Anejo (RRP$139) in Australia a small batch tequila that is aged for 24 months in bourbon barrels, giving it distinctive wood and honey notes, while maintaining its bold tequila flavour.

Beyond the existing portfolio, Miro has a pipeline of further exclusive 100% agave products hailing direct from Mexico set to launch throughout 2026.

Insolente Plata Rosa (RRP$149) and Inquieto Black Anejo are both available now exclusively via Miro’s online retail destination, Drink Miro, as well as via wholesale orders.
