AFL stars launch crowd-funding campaign for Barry RTD

Australian RTD brand Barry has launched an equity crowd-sourced funding opportunity in collaboration with OnMarket.

Founded by high-profile AFL players Bailey Smith, Nick Daicos, Josh Daicos and Charlie Curnow, and backed by a board including Peter Filipovic (ex-CEO CUB) and Leigh Rowe (Paramount Liquor), the brand has turned organic momentum into a large national retail footprint, hitting $3.68 million in revenue in FY25.

Barry CEO Chris Pang said that given the passionate community behind Barry and the ‘ground up’ approach taken by its founders, crowd-sourced funding would allow its audience to effectively become a shareholder.

“We have the growth profile that traditional private equity looks for, but we deliberately chose crowd-sourced funding,” Pang said. “Our community has built Barry from day one and it’s important to us that they get to share its future.

“The business is in a prime position to provide opportunity to genuine investors, as well as people who have made an authentic connection with the brand from when we first started.

“Having global cultural heavyweights like Tash Sultana join the cap table resonates with our vision and proves this is bigger than a standard beverage company. Tash brings a whole new dimension to our active marketing and community strategy, helping us supercharge our direct line to over two million fans.

“We generated more than $3.68 million revenue in FY25, achieving profitability and providing the massive consumer demand for our product and brand.

“Add to that: our presence in more than 995 Liquorland stores and ranging across Dan Murphy’s and BWS locked in for 2026; built-in media engine which leverages our more than two million fans; and unrivalled commercial leadership, including Peter Filipovic and Director of Paramount Liquor Leigh Rowe, ensures a sustainable scale and a clear exit path.

“Opening the company to other real people who share our core values and connect with us is the best way for us to grow without losing our authenticity or voice.”

The Australian RTD market is worth $5 billion, growing 15% year-on-year. Gen Z has the strongest customer penetration of this category and the opportunity to recruit is the most lucrative in the overall alcohol industry today.

EOI spots can be secured directly via the OnMarket platform at onmarket.com.au

This will be followed by a nine-day offer opening on Tuesday 2 June 2026 to those registered during the EOI period, before opening publicly on Thursday 4June 2026. Campaign closes Thursday 11 June 2026.

The funds raised from the campaign will be used to further expand distribution and invest in commercial partners.
