Chalk Hill Wines, one of McLaren Vale’s most celebrated wineries, has appointed Trent Fraser as Chief Executive Officer.
Fraser has more than two decades of experience in the wine and luxury brand sector. He previously led Top Shelf International and is a former Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton Vice President.
Fraser said: “I am so excited to have the opportunity to help shape the next chapter at Chalk Hill Wines, to build on its exceptional vineyards, award-winning wines and spectacular destination.
“My goal is ambitious and simple – to protect and enhance what makes Chalk Hill Wines so special, so that more people have the opportunity to experience our beautiful wines and share them with the people they care about.
A success story six generations in the making
Chalk Hill Wines is owned and operated by the Harvey family. Its grape growing and winemaking heritage dates back to John Harvey’s arrival in Adelaide in 1839, where he was one of the first to plant vines north of Adelaide.
Six generations later, the Harvey family are continuing that legacy through both Chalk Hill Wines and the Alpha Crucis Wine Company.

Chalk Hill Winemaker Renae Hirsch was awarded the McLaren Vale Bushing Monarch in 2020 and 2023, while Chalk Hill Wines has been recognised as a Halliday 5-red star winery for the last 16 years.
“Great wine is not simply about what is in the bottle. It’s about how people feel when they discover it, and the memories they take away. We will be focusing on bringing together wine, food, events, culture and experience,” Fraser said.
