Female-founded drinks brand Corsika has launched its first product, Blossom Spritz, a sparkling apéritif made from de-alcoholised wine, orange blossom, mandarin and native Australian wattleseed flavours.
The drink’s name honours founder Alex Tomasi’s grandfather, who was fiercely proud of his roots on the French island of Corsica. Its signature flavour comes from Tomasi’s grandmother’s kitchen, where the scent of orange blossom was in
everything she baked.
“Growing up next to the Mediterranean Sea, one breath of orange blossom and I’m straight back in my grandmother’s kitchen,” says Tomasi. “It was my non-negotiable from the very first recipe.”
Data from the Hilda survey (analysed via Flinders News) shows that younger generations, especially Gen Z, are abstaining from alcohol at unprecedented rates and are nearly 20 times more likely not to drink than baby boomers. IWSR data also shows total beverage alcohol volumes in top global markets fell 3% in 2025, with declines hitting nearly all traditional
categories except for ready-to-drink (RTD) spirits and no-alcohol/low-alcohol options.
Drawing on more than a decade working in the wine and spirits industry, Tomasi saw the opportunity firsthand.
“People still want the ritual of opening a beautiful bottle and the bubbles in the glass,,” she said. “They just don’t want the hangover, or a glass full of sugar standing in for the alcohol. Blossom Spritz was made for those moments.”
Blossom Spritz is available now from corsika.com.au at $29 RRP per 750ml bottle.
