A London-born private members’ club for wine lovers has signed the lease on its first Australian outpost.
67 Pall Mall will occupy the top three floors of 85 Spring Street Melbourne, marking the city’s largest F&B deal concluded in the CBD in more than a decade.
Opening in mid-2025, 67 Pall Mall will offer members nearly 21,500 sqft of unprecedented access to fine wines through one of the broadest wine lists in Australia, with 5000 by the bottle and 1000 by the glass.
It will also provide masterclasses with the world’s top winemakers and châteaux owners and give Victorian wine producers the opportunity to be showcased throughout 67 Pall Mall’s global network of clubs, allowing for a wider international reach.
“Melbourne means business, which is why we welcome the investment of 67 Pall Mall as it establishes its new wine club at 85 Spring Street,” Lord Mayor Sally Capp said.
“This addition to our hospitality scene will add to Melbourne’s vibe as a hospitality hub while generating jobs and attracting more visitors.”
The property, previously called ‘Esanda House’ was constructed in 1984 and originally owned by Esanda Finance, a subsidiary of ANZ Bank at the time.
The Club will centre around a 7.5-metre wine feature wall spanning across both the 13th and 14th floors enveloped by private rooms with versatile partition walls.
It will also have a dedicated whisky-focused cocktail bar showcasing rare and cult spirits in an intimate setting, including 67 Pall Mall’s very own cask bottlings from Springbank, Macallan and more.
In addition to this, open-air balconies will provide members with spectacular, uninterrupted views of the surrounding Treasury and Fitzroy Gardens, the MCG, Parliament House and the Melbourne cityscape.
67 Pall Mall founder Grant Ashton said: “Melbourne offers an excellent new foothold for 67 Pall Mall in Australia, and allows us to engage with a passionate wine culture and a knowledgeable collector community.
“67 Pall Mall was founded as a wine Club by wine lovers, for wine lovers, and I’m pleased to announce our first Australian outpost as we embark on an exciting phase of global expansion. Joining our Clubs across Europe and South East Asia, 67 Pall Mall Melbourne will be the city’s first private Members’ wine club and expand Melbourne’s rich hospitality offering. This is a
striking property that offers views across the city from a fantastic central location at Spring Street, and like each of our properties, provides a dramatic backdrop to enjoy some of the finest wine found anywhere in the world.”
