Australian bottled cocktail maker The Everleigh Bottling Co. has launched a new creation called Velvet Noir that takes Easter indulgence to the next level.
Designed to pair with dark chocolate for an elevated Easter experience, the Velvet Noir displays notes of dark chocolate, black cherry and baking spice with a bittersweet palate showing plum, bitter orange, and cola spice. It finishes with a lifted clean finish of ripe grapefruit, mint and chamomile.
At The Everleigh Bottling Co., each cocktail is meticulously made by hand in Melbourne using premium spirits.
Product Development Manager Paul Hammond said: “When we developed the Velvet Noir, we wanted to create something that would act as a pairing for chocolate, adding a beautiful contrast, rather than tasting like chocolate itself. For inspiration we looked at the Italian fortified wine Barolo Chinato.
“Chinato was originally created as a tonic wine made with Barolo from the Piedmont region of Italy, it’s fortified and then aromatised with botanicals like rhubarb, cinnamon, clove and gentian which pairs particularly well with dark chocolate.
“The Velvet Noir uses a blend of both dry and full bodied vermouths along with bitter Italian amaro, pimento, cinnamon and mint to be the perfect foil for some dark chocolate indulgence this Easter.”
