Marie Brizard cocktail competition closing soon

The Marie Brizard Cocktail Competition is closing in two weeks, with bartenders invited to submit creations that highlight any liqueur in the range.

Maison Marie Brizard was founded in 1755 in Bordeaux by Marie Brizard, the first French female master liquorist. She created a company at a time when women were not even allowed to sign documents and was dedicated to her art: selecting,
distilling and blending the best ingredients to create her liqueurs.

Entries for the competition close on 30 April 2025, with the national final to be held during Bartenders’ Weekender 2025 in Brisbane on 17 June at La La Land, The Prince Consort Hotel in Fortitude Valley.

Four finalists will be selected from across Australia – one from each region (QLD/NSW/ACT, VIC, TAS/SA/NT and WA) – to battle it out for the title. Expect fierce competition, creative brilliance, and an unforgettable celebration of skill and style behind the bar.

The national winner will receive a $5000 cash prize and a two-page spread in Boothby magazine.

To enter, create a cocktail and share it on an Instagram open to the public with a high-resolution image (including a Marie
Brizard bottle). In the caption, include your cocktail name, full recipe and method (using millilitres), a little about your creation and the bar where you work. And don’t forget to tag @marie_brizard_official and @pseexperiences (Penny Sippe).
