Queensland Rum Day returns

Queensland Rum Day returns on 17 October 2026, bringing together a record number of distilleries to raise a glass to the state’s rum industry.

Now in its fourth year, Queensland Rum Day brings together founding distilleries Beenleigh Rum, Bundaberg Rum, Kalki Moon Distilling and Brewing and Nil Desperandum Rum, alongside returning guest distiller Burdekin Rum and first-time participant FNQ Rum Co.

They will also launch a limited-edition blend, The Rum Consortium 2026, which incorporates rums made from molasses, sugarcane syrup and fresh-pressed sugarcane juice, aged between two and 12 years.

The unique blend brings together rums made from sugarcane grown, harvested, distilled, matured and ultimately bottled in Queensland.

Queensland Rum Day celebrates this growing reputation alongside the Sunshine State’s sugarcane heritage and regional diversity, which helps define Queensland Rum.

Queensland Distillers Association President Vanessa Chapman said: “Queensland Rum Day gives people a reason to discover the quality and character of Queensland rum.

“The Rum Consortium takes that a step further, bringing different distillers’ expertise and styles into one shared expression, helping build recognition for Queensland as a premium spirits region, both nationally and internationally.”

At 40% ABV with no added sugar, the limited release comprises 5280 700ml bottles, with a recommended retail price of $119. It’s on sale via each distillery’s website, and from cellar doors on Queensland Rum Day. The limited release will be
available until sold out.

To mark Queensland Rum Day, distillers across the state will put on a series of festivities:

Burdekin Rum CEO Tim Lamb said: “This year, Rum Day brings the scale and diversityof the state together in a glass,
uniting distilleries across 2000 kilometres of Queensland. It’s exciting to bring our Burdekin sugarcane juice rum to such a great industry celebration.”
