Tanduay celebrates its launch in Australia

The world’s biggest-selling rum brand – Tanduay – has celebrated its arrival in Australia with a glamorous launch party.

Held at Bar Bambi in Melbourne, the event was hosted by Tanduay’s Australian partner, Jonathan Paige International (JPI), and attended by executives from Tanduay Philippines and the Consul Generals of the Philippine Embassy – Ralph Vincent Abarquez and Jan Sherwin Wenceslao – alongside JPI customers and Tanduay consumers.

Guests enjoyed an array of cocktails during the event, including Pineapple Daiquiris with Tanduay Gold Rum, Orange Mai Tais with Tanduay Gold and Silver Rum, Dark N Stormys with Tanduay Spiced Rum and Rum Old Fashioneds with Tanduay Double Rum.

International Business Development Manager and Senior Brand Manager of Tanduay Distillers Marc Ngo said Tanduay was poised to shake things up in the Australian spirit scene.

“Our company has a long history of craftsmanship, we’ve been producing and selling quality rum for the past 170 years,” he said. “We are six years running as the World’s Number 1 Rum, and not to brag, but we’ve got that Brand of the Year Award from the London-based World Branding Awards for seven consecutive years.”

“Yes, we’ve been making waves since 1854 – and that’s some serious heritage in every bottle,” Ngo continued. “Now, here’s the deal – Tanduay is ready to be the life of the party, and with JPI by our side, we’re going to turn every Aussie gathering into a tropical fiesta. We’re bringing a slice of the Philippines to your backyards, and we want you all to be part of the adventure.

“JPI has been working to expand the distribution of Tanduay across Australia, and the award-winning rum portfolio is now available in most retailers such as Liquorland, Costco, ALM, ILG, Thirsty Camel, IGA, and is continuously expanding to more on-premise venues such as Serai and Ms. Collins in Melbourne.”

JPI Managing Director Sean Ekanayake said: “As a company that I started just over three years ago, I take great pride to be recognised by global spirits manufacturers as a genuine player within the spirits space in Australia.

“When global giants like the Tanduay Corporation approached us at JPI to represent their portfolio, it must mean we are doing something right and a trusted and genuine partner to manage their portfolio of brands.”
