Australia’s first specialist Rosé brand launches

Fourth Wave Wine has launched Paddington Lane Wine Co, Australia’s first specialist Rosé brand.

The release is timely, with summer being prime Rosé sipping season and the popularity of pink wine in Australia showing no signs of slowing – the category grew by 15% during 2020-2022 alone.

The Paddington Lane Wine Co. range features three distinct wines inspired by traditional European Rosés, such as dry French and more savoury Italian styles, with grapes sourced from leading South Australian wine regions and crafted to reflect their unique origins – No. 1 Dry Rosé from the Fleurieu Peninsula, No. 2 Savoury Rosé from the Riverlands, and No. 3 Soft Rosé
hailing from the Limestone Coast.

Fourth Wave said Paddington Lane Wine Co was created to target the modern wine consumer, those who
lead a social lifestyle and are either looking for an introduction to Rosé or simply seeking out their preferred style to experience with family and friends.

“We are thrilled to bring the Australian market a first for the category; a specialist Rosé brand,” said Fourth Wave Wine Managing Director Ross Marshall.

“Each style in the range is meticulously crafted with an intended consumer in mind. With grapes sourced from prominent wine regions and carefully selected in order to craft what we hope are the perfect styles that each variety can be, Paddington Lane Wine Co. brings to life Australia’s capability of producing world-class Rosé styles and enabling consumers to choose more easily. The result is an expressive, enjoyable range and a Rosé style to match every palate.”

The brand name, Paddington Lane Wine Co, pays tribute to the lively streets of the trendy inner Sydney suburb of
Paddington, where heritage meets modern sophistication.

The range features an elegant and embossed glass bottle design by Denomination.

“Our client briefed us to create a unique Australian rosé brand that would hero different rosé styles within a uniform look and feel,” Denomination explained.

“We looked for inspiration at classic Australian terrace houses, whose uniform rows all have slight variations with different wrought iron patterns that impart such elegance and beauty. Named after a charming part of Sydney which abounds in these terraces, Paddington Lane rosé is numbered to indicate the series, whilst the heavily embossed bottle of wrought iron lace works its magic. To add to the romance, the back of the bottle includes an evocative quote about wine by Robert Louis Stevenson. The whole package makes you want to sit on one of these verandahs in the late afternoon sun: delicious.”

The Paddington Lane Wine Co. range is available now from select independent retailers nationally at an RRP of $22.99.
