Coca-Cola Europacific Partners celebrates Aussie kebab shops 

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) is shining a spotlight on the community-focused initiatives put in place by local kebab shops. Its Awards of Excellence program recognising and celebrating the achievements of local businesses across the country and their contributions within their local communities.

Felicity Needham, VP Sales, Away From Home for CCEP Australia said: “CCEP is excited to celebrate the achievements of local business owners through our Awards of Excellence program. The awards are an opportunity to spotlight local community heroes, whose impact within their community goes beyond great food and excellent service.” 

“Many of the local businesses from this month’s category play a key role in sustaining local sport and youth programs. Whether they’re sponsoring the local basketball team or contributing to new sports gear with funds generated from return and earn recycling initiatives, these businesses are the behind-the-scenes champions making a real positive impact. Their support often goes beyond financial contributions, fostering social connections and camaraderie within the community and contributes to a thriving local spirit.” 

This month, winners included kebab stores who have supported their communities through a range of community-led initiatives and delicious eats.

Dada Di Fannie Bay Kebab (NT, pictured main) – This kebab house embodies a true community-minded approach. From funds collected from return and earn recycling schemes, they assisted a retired couple with money and provided meals for over 250 students during COVID. Additionally, Kebab House is a gold sponsor of the local Darwin Hearts Football Club.  

Troy Kebabs Domain Central (QLD) – Located in Townsville, Troy Kebab makes regular donations to Townsville Mosque with funds collected from return and earn recycling schemes. Thanks to the generous donations, the mosque can hold more community events and support youth programs more frequently.  

Sweet as Mudgee (NSW) – Known as the famous “Kebab Man,” Sweet as Mudgee owner Mostafa is a micro-celebrity within the community. He tirelessly works long hours and stays open well into the evening on the weekends to serve late night eats. Sweet as Mudgee is a major sponsor of the junior basketball teams in Mudgee and Mostafa often helps on the sidelines when he can. 

Ottoman Kebab Central West (VIC) – Ottoman Kebab is known for its dedication to the environment, ensuring bottles and cans are recycled correctly. This kebab shop also regularly contributes to cancer research charities as they would love to see a cure in their lifetime. 

The CCEP Awards of Excellence program aims to recognise small businesses who are demonstrating outstanding performance and dedication to excellence.  Winners are shortlisted and selected based on a range of criteria including customer service, engagement within their community and local and/or charitable initiatives and/or demonstrate a focus on sustainability. All Local Trade Small Businesses, excluding franchisees, are eligible for The CCEP Award of Excellence.
