Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin returns

Almost 10 years after Four Pillars Co-founder and Head Distiller Cameron Mackenzie first had the idea to soak Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes in Rare Dry Gin, the ninth vintage of cult phenomenon Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin is being released.

This year the fruit has come from both the Yarra Valley and Faraday, near Bendigo, and according to Cameron, the 2024 vintage was a “bloody good one”.

“What we thought was going to be a long, hot and dry summer turned into the exact opposite,” he said.

“It was mild, with cool nights and rain when we needed it. Some say it’s the best since 1992, so let’s go with that!”

This year’s limited-edition Bloody Shiraz bottle features an etched tablescape design from Melbourne artist and gin hospitality friend Kris Leombruni.

Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin ($84) will be available to the Four Pillars database from 29 May and available to the public from 8 June online at http://www.fourpillarsgin.com and the Gin Shops at the Four Pillars Healesville Distillery and Four Pillars Surry Hills Laboratory for RRP $84.

Or try it at one of the following Hotel Windsor Group venues across Melbourne, where Kris Leombruni works as Group Beverages Manager, each of which are hosting Bloody Shiraz celebrations between 15 June and 13 July.

Head down to Antara 128 and indulge in its Bloody Shiraz cocktail menu with a “Bloody Hour” specials from 4pm to 6pm every day. The restaurant will also play host to a pop-up shop where Bloody Shiraz bottles will be available to purchase alongside artworks from Kris himself.

Antara 128 is also holding a “Bloody Long Lunch” on Saturday 13 July with a “get to know the artist” and an “intro to Bloody Shiraz Gin” session. Tickets will be available from early June over at: https://antara.melbourne/events
