Enmore’s Palomino Lounge is celebrating its first birthday with a month-long celebration throughout December, featuring live music two nights a week, a beer collab with Grifter Brewing Co., and a new Mark Maggiori ‘American West’ artwork hung front and centre over the bar.

Marrickville neighbour The Grifter Brewing Co. has joined forces with the bar on a special edition beer – the Golden Bronco American Pale Ale, together with assorted merch.

Palomino Lounge is also celebrating its birthday with Margaritas featuring Don Fulano Tequila – voted Best Tequila in the 2024 San Francisco World Spirit Competition. The limited-release Don Fulano 20th Anniversary Tequila will also be available for sipping, as well as the ever-growing rare and exclusive agave list that bar owner Dylan Howarth has been collecting, including the Fortaleza Winter Blend, Calle 23 Criollo, G4 Reserve editions, and a first edition Ocho.

Palomino Lounge is named after the Palomino horse, a breed the Spanish Queen Isabella introduced to Mexico, where they were then introduced to Texas and the southern United States.

To celebrate its namesake horse, a new Mark Maggiori artwork has been purchased and placed in the centre of the bar. Maggiori’s style speaks to the immense scale of the American West; and the quiet resilience of the prairie dwellers, cowboys and Native Americans who occupied the unending canyons and lands around them. Clouds erupt from the horizon and fill his paintings with the golden hues of the Palomino horse itself.

There’s another birthday in the family too – Palomino’s big brother, Fortunate Son, turns five in December.

To celebrate, the bar has created a selection of birthday cocktails with the newly launched Jack Danials Bonded, Dom Perignon Champagne by the glass, and a beer collab with neighbour Young Henrys; the Inner Western IPA. The beer is a take on a West Coast IPA – with a bit of Enmore flair added to it.

Palomino Lounge is located next door to the Enmore Theatre, while Fortunate Son is at 105 Enmore Rd, Newtown.
