Beerfarm launches capital raise to fund NSW expansion

Independent Western Australian brewery Beerfarm is expanding to NSW as part of a national growth strategy and has launched a capital raise of up to $13 million to fund the development of a new site in Glenworth Valley.

Spanning a 26-acre property, it is set to house a working brewery from late 2025 and a restaurant and event space by end 2026.

Founded in 2015 on a 1940s dairy farm in Metricup, Beerfarm has evolved from a grassroots brewery into a thriving business known for its award-winning brews, unique rural events, and a ‘cultivating good times’ ethos that has helped build a loyal customer base.

With a strong presence in WA and growing distribution across the country, Beerfarm’s move to the East Coast is the next step in a long-held plan to become a national independent beer brand.

“We’ve always set out to do things differently, to create more than just a brewery – a place that brings people together,” said Founder and Director of Beerfarm Ian Atkins.

Rather than rely solely on production and distribution, Beerfarm has built a unique model that blends beer with rural hospitality. Its WA site attracts more than 150,000 visitors annually, offering everything from brewery tours and farm-to-plate dining as well as live music, community events and one of the state’s biggest rodeos.

The Glenworth Valley development, located just off the M1 on the Central Coast – approximately an hour’s drive from Sydney and Newcastle – is expected to grow the business’s national production capacity by a million litres and act as a key hub for east coast distribution. The region is one of the fastest growing areas within NSW, with a high volume of tourism which presents a strategic opportunity for Beerfarm to build on its WA success.

“This capital raise allows us to take a proven concept and introduce it to a new audience, and NSW is just the beginning,” Atkins added.

“With other sites also on the horizon, we’re setting the foundations for something truly national, while staying independent and true to our roots.”

Construction planning at Glenworth Valley is underway, with the brewery scheduled to be operational before the end of 2025 and the restaurant and event space opening in 2026. As with its WA site, Beerfarm plans to work with local suppliers, host community-led events, and integrate sustainable practices like on-site agriculture, renewable energy initiatives as well as waste strategies like fertigation to minimise its footprint on the land it resides.

Beerfarm is currently seeking investors and business partners to take part in the capital raise, supporting the expansion of one of Australia’s most recognisable independent beverage brands at a pivotal moment in the sector.
