Award-winning tequila launches crowd-funding raise

Florcita, a new tequila brand crafted in Mexico and arriving in Australia this spring, has launched a crowd-funding raise following a triple win at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Florcita was awarded Gold for its Tequila/Mezcal & Tonic, Silver for its Agave Spirit and Silver for its Tequila/Mezcal Paloma at the prestigious competition.

The awards come ahead of Florcita’s first Australian shipment arriving in July 2025 and represent a significant milestone for the emerging brand, which was designed in Australia.

Florcita founder Pat Neale (above) said: “To be recognised by the IWSC before we’ve even launched is a huge confidence boost.

“We’ve created Florcita to offer something fresh for Australian drinkers — a tequila that’s easy to love, easy to mix, and perfect for those long, laid-back sessions. These awards tell us we’re on the right track.”

Florcita is designed with a modern, mixable profile that appeals to a wide range of drinkers — including those who may have previously written off tequila. Its light, refreshing character makes it an ideal base for long drinks like the classic Paloma, as
well as other contemporary serves.

Equity raise launching via Birchal

To support its national launch, Florcita is inviting Australians to become part of its journey through an equity crowdfunding campaign on Birchal, with Expressions of Interest open from 17 June to 7 July 2025.

“We’re building more than a drinks brand — we’re building a community,” said Neale.

“This raise is about giving people the opportunity to join us at the very beginning and help shape the future of Florcita as we launch into one of the world’s most exciting spirits markets.”

Funds raised will help drive distribution, sampling, and marketing as Florcita prepares to land in bars, fridges and festivals across Australia this spring.
