Hard FIZZ launches new vodka RTD range

Five years after launching its hard seltzers, independent RTD brand Hard FIZZ is introducing a new vodka range.

The two flavours are Lemonade and Pineapple, made with real fruit juice and Australian vodka. They contain just 97 calories and come with a 4% ABV.

The new range will be available in Dan Murphy’s, Cellarbrations and Liquor Legends nationally, as well as BWS, Star Liquor and Liquorland stores in Queensland in September.

The launch follows data that shows spirit-based RTDs are trending.

FIZZ CEO Wade Tiller said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited for a new product development. It’s been a long time coming but the whole team is thrilled to finally be bringing this new range to market.

“A lot of research has gone into this line and with the data showing such huge growth in the vodka category, it was a bit of a no brainer.”

Circana research shows vodka consumption in Australia was up 12.7% in the 12 months to December 2024, with tequila also spiking 5.6%.

The data also shows in 2021, just 21% of all vodka RTD’s on the market were considered ‘healthy’. In the December quarter of 2024, that percentage had grown to 45% with people demanding less sugar and calories.

“It’s a bit of a catch cry for us: ‘fizzy on the lips, light on the rig’ but it’s what people want,” Tiller said.

“We’re just responding to that demand for fun, tasty drinks without any of the nasty stuff. Almost half of all vodkas sold lately are in that ‘better for you’ class and I fully expect that to keep increasing.”
