Mountain Culture’s Status Quo has become the first beer to win the GABS Hottest 100 four years in a row.
Every year, thousands of craft beer enthusiasts around the country choose their favourite Aussie craft beers in the GABS Hottest 100, with the 2025 results revealed on January 24.

Blue Mountains brewer Mountain Culture describes Status Quo as “a juicy New England Pale Ale. Made for hop lovers with massive late and dry hop additions, it’s full flavoured and more tropical than the Hawaiian ukulele orchestra”.
CEO and co-founder DJ McCready said: “It’s such an amazing achievement for the team. Being voted Australia’s number one beer four years in a row has never been done before, and that’s a testament to how hard they all work, from the brewers that actually make Status Quo every week, to the sales team who are out on the road making our beers more readily available in pubs and bottle shops across Australia.
“I can honestly say, we have the best fans. They have supported us since day one and I want to thank them, and also all our retailers for their support in 2025. It was a record-breaking year for Mountain Culture sales, and it’s great to see so many new drinkers loving Status Quo.”
Coopers Pale Ale stood tall in second place on the podium for the second year in a row, an outstanding result for Australia’s oldest independent brewery, which has been brewing in South Australia for more than 150 years. In total, five Coopers beers made the list.
Rounding out the top three was Single Fin Summer Ale from Gage Roads Brewing Co.
