Archie Rose unveils first-ever age-statement whisky

Archie Rose Distilling Co. has announced the release of Single Cask Series Batch No. 3 – a trio of single malt whiskies selected from their finest casks, including the brand’s first-ever age-statement single cask release.

Building on the success of the Single Cask Series launched last year, Batch No 3. has been hand-selected by the distillery team after an extensive search through more than 35,000 casks.

The three distinct expressions are Single Cask Whisky Batch No.3 – Toasted Amber Single Malt (RRP $279.99), Single Cask Whisky Batch No.3 – Six Year Old Single Malt ($349.99) and Single Cask Whisky Batch No. 3 – Single Malt Whisky (trade exclusive).

Archie Rose Founder Will Edwards said: “This six-year-old single cask represents a milestone for Archie Rose as our first-ever age-statement release. Hand selected from thousands of barrels as a superior expression of our whisky making, it
highlights the character created by exceptional Australian grown malts and maturation in an Australian
fortified wine cask over time.”

Six Year Old Single Malt is a rare single cask of Single Malt Whisky that has been matured in an Australian fortified wine (apera) cask and represents Archie Rose’s first age-statement single cask release. It offers notes of dark chocolate-coated figs, raspberry jam and pecan pie, with a palate that reveals French pastries, maple syrup and floral elements.

Toasted Amber Single Malt is distilled from carefully selected toasted amber malt and matured in an American oak ex-bourbon cask, it delivers a striking balance of sweet fruit and savoury malt character. The nose opens with aromas of passionfruit, cookies and cream ice cream and jelly beans, while the palate unfolds layers of pineapple, cinnamon muffins and Maltesers.
