Sydney hospitality group Solotel has put the Bridgeview Hotel on the market, following the recent sale of four venues to Australian Venue Co (AVC).
Owned and operated by Solotel since 2012, Bridgeview Hotel sits on a 1362m2 site within the retail strip of Willoughby.
HTL property is handling the sale and describes the pub as attracting annual revenue in excess of $5 million. The pub is for sale via expression of interest, closing on 18 March 2026.
“This densely populated corridor of Sydney has an extremely low hotel per capita ratio, which has been strengthened even further with the recent closure the nearby Northbridge Hotel, formerly the Bridgeview’s closest competitor,” said HTL Property Managing Director Andrew Jolliffe.
“The significant transaction cadence upon the national hospitality landscape has been the entirely propulsive for this first month of the new year, with unprecedented levels of buyer universe interest resulting in greater than $500 million in sales already.”
“The population of Willougby and surrounding areas is rapidly intensifying, and accordingly, the Bridgeview is perfectly positioned to take advantage,” said National Director Dan Dragicevich.
“Solotel have done a great job over their tenure, however the incoming operator will benefit from the significant planning the company has already undertaken so as to incorporate an adjoining property into the operations and reformat what is currently in place “
“This area of Sydney is very tightly held and, as we witnessed with our recent campaign for the Fire House Hotel in nearby North Sydney last year, we are expecting significant market interest.”
According to The Australian, Solotel’s recent sale of The Golden Sheaf in Double Bay, Barangaroo House in Barangaroo, Public House Petersham in Petersham and The Erko in Erskineville to AVC was thought to be worth $40 million. It follows Solotel losing its leasehold on Opera Bar at Sydney Opera House after almost 25 years.
In a statement, Solotel said the combined the sales to AVC represented a “reset for the Solotel group into a smaller, sharper, Solomon family-led group with reinvestment planned in the remaining portfolio, as well as looking to grow in new bars and restaurants”.
Solotel’s long‑standing partnership with Matt Moran will continue with ARIA and Chiswick restaurants, Chophouse, North Bondi Fish and Riverbar and Kitchen. The collaboration also includes a new dining experience planned for Macquarie Street in Sydney, marking the next chapter in the partnership.
CEO Elliot Solomon said: “Hospitality very much remains our focus. The sale to AVC represents an opportunity to refocus the business on exceptional and unique venues, rather than scale.
“We remain deeply committed to hospitality and evolving Solotel, with our upcoming Macquarie Street restaurant and the relocation of The Albion to Smith Street, Parramatta.”
“This decision allows us to simplify the business, reduce complexity, and focus our energy on our remaining venues as well as new projects where we can be more hands-on.
“These decisions are about setting Solotel up for long-term success. We are excited about the future and the opportunities to create new, vibrant hospitality experiences.”
