EPC Champagne arrives in Australia

Australia has welcomed a new Champagne label called EPC, with two cuvées now available via select Dan Murphy’s stores.

A play on the word ‘epicurean’ – EPC Champagne was established in 2019 by Édouard Roy, Jérôme Queige and Camille Jullien Gilardi who bonded over a shared passion for sparkling wine.

The trio developed EPC Champagne with a vision to benchmark the wine category with a focus on transparency and championing the people and places that go into each bottle.

Queige said: “Acknowledging and celebrating the winegrowers who play such a vital role in the development of each bottle of EPC Champagne is so important to us – they truly shape the uniqueness of each cuvée with their sub-regional growing sites.

“We believe that traceability is the future of the Champagne category for NV releases as it not only highlights these sub-regions here in Champagne itself, but also allows drinkers to know more about where their wines come from.”

EPC Champagne’s focus on transparency aligns with a growing consumer demand for products with clear traceability and history. According to a 2025 study from the Journal of Business Research, 75% of consumers prioritise products based on the availability of clear traceability information, with almost two-thirds willing to move to brands based on this level of communication.

This purchasing driver also carries over to the wine industry, with Gen Z drinkers often buying products based on its authenticity, shared values and community over prestige (Nielsen, 2025).

Sustainability is also a focus for EPC Champagne, with its winegrowers chosen based on quality but also their commitment to environmentally friendly practices. All winegrowers either practice sustainable viticulture, or are transitioning to organic or
biodynamic viticulture.

Additionally, EPC Champagne uses one of the lightest bottles on the market to reduce its carbon footprint, plus all packaging materials are sourced locally in France and the EU to further reduce this impact.

The two EPC Champagne cuvées now available in Australia – EPC Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut NV and EPC Champagne Brut NV – feature this traceability information via the back label, along with a QR code that takes drinkers to the winery website with further details about the region, winegrowers, varieties and vintage(s).

The labels also feature easy-to-read flavour guides on sweetness, freshness, and fruitiness plus interactive temperature gauges using temperature sensitive ink which turns blue when the wine is at the correct degree to consume.

The EPC Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut NV is crafted from 100% Chardonnay fruit grown during the 2022 vintage in Côteaux du Sézannais located south of Épernay. The EPC Champagne Brut NV is made from a blend of Pinot Meunier (50%), Chardonnay (33%), and Pinot Noir (17%) grown in Épernay. The vintage for this wine is split, with 52% from the 2020 vintage, and the remaining from reserve wines.

“The EPC Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut NV and Brut NV are both wonderful examples of the depth Champagne has as both a wine style and region,” said Queige.

“We want to encourage drinkers to reach for Champagne not just during a special occasion or celebration, but as an option for those anyday moments too.”

The EPC Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut NV (RRP $91.99) and EPC Champagne Brut NV (RRP $71.99) are both available via select Dan Murphy’s stores now.
