New wine pays tribute to one of North Melbourne’s most iconic wins

Red Hill Estate has unveiled The Golden Glory, a limited-edition 2024 Pinot Noir created to mark 30 years since North Melbourne Football Club’s historic 1996 premiership win.

Available now via pre-sale ahead of an official June release, the commemorative drop pays tribute to one of the club’s most celebrated moments — its centenary premiership victory and the only time an AFL premiership cup was cast in gold.

The small batch release by the Mornington Peninsula-based producer is made from 100% Pinot Noir and designed as both a collector’s item for North Melbourne supporters and a premium cool-climate wine for Pinot lovers.

The 2024 vintage features notes of liqueur cherry and warm spice, balanced by silky tannins and a long finish.

The release follows Red Hill Estate’s appointment earlier this year as the Official Wine Partner of North Melbourne Football Club across its AFL and AFLW programs, with the winery now expanding the partnership through a product created specifically for supporters.

Red Hill Estate General Manager Dominic Fabrizio said: “This is a special release for both Red Hill Estate and North Melbourne supporters.

“The 1996 premiership remains such an iconic moment in the club’s history, and we wanted to create something that gives fans a new way to celebrate and remember that legacy.”

Produced in limited quantities, The Golden Glory is expected to appeal to North Melbourne supporters, memorabilia collectors and wine lovers alike.

The wine is available for pre-order now ($48) via Red Hill Estate’s website ahead of its official June 2026 release.
