ALDI cabernet sauvignon wins Best in Show

Blackstone Paddock Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 has won the trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show at the 2020 Adelaide Wine Show.

The ALDI wine also collected the Professor A J Perkins Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon in Show.

Priced at just $17.99, the wine beat many wines priced at more than $100.

ALDI wine buyer Jason Bowyer said: “The Max Schubert AM Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show, is regarded as one of the most prized trophies in the Australian wine industry.

“We couldn’t be more proud to deliver such value to our customers every day.”

Last year, the wine triumphed at the 1st Australia International Wine Challenge.

In the Best Value Wines category, the Best Value Red Wine ($10-$19) went to Blackstone Paddock Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2017.

ALDI’s $7.99 A.C. Byrne Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2020 also claimed a gold medal at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, and a trophy for best sav-sem blend at the Royal Perth Wine Show.

Meanwhile, its $8.99 Venturer Series Riverina Durif 2019, won a trophy for Best Riverina Durif at the 2020 Riverina Wine Show.
