Basic Babe hard seltzer has released its third flavour – Every Berry – and amped up distribution for summer.
Every Berry features notes of fresh raspberries and strawberries, offering a harmony of tangy, tart and sweet flavours. It joins Basic Babe Ginger & Lime and Watermelon.
Mark Collins, Co-Founder of Babe’s parent company Basic Brands & Co, believes the potential for seltzer sales in Australia is huge, describing the Down Under lifestyle as “one big seltzer usage occasion”.
“We’re pretty excited by the launch of Every Berry, the packaging is next level incredible,” he added.
Data analytics and market research company IRI believes the potential for hard seltzer sales in Australia could be as high as $300million by 2025.
The category is worth $2billion in the United States and is continuing to grow astronomically, with sales up 350% in 2019.
Basic Babe is millennial focused, health conscious and environmentally friendly, with zero sugar and zero carbs. It features premium natural flavours, neutral grain spirit and purified sparkling water.
“We wanted to create a brand that satisfied the demands of the modern day millennial drinker, a brand that was relatable to the biggest consumer group,” explained Collins.
There have been an explosion of new products on shelf in recent months, however Collins believes Basic Babe hard seltzer has the inside running on what makes younger consumers tick.
“We may have only 55 calories per can, but that doesn’t mean we have sacrificed taste,” said Collins. “We have worked tirelessly on our flavour profiles, and we believe we have achieved the best tasting hard seltzer on the planet.
Basic Babe hard seltzer is now available in all states including key Dan Murphys & BWS stores through the Gold Coast, Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
