See Kate Hudson’s vodka Christmas tree

Actress Kate Hudson ditched the traditional fir Christmas tree this year and celebrated with one made from vodka bottles instead … and she’s vowed not to take it down until February.

The actress launched her own vodka label, King St, last year. King St is distilled seven times in small batches, is gluten-free and uses alkaline water. The name was inspired by memories of hosting friends at Hudson’s former home on King Street in New York City.

The actress wrote on Instagram: “I couldn’t have a little @kingstvodka Friend-Tini party for the holidays so I asked my beautiful friend @ericbuterbaugh to create a tree that would go in its place to feel like my bar room was filled with celebratory holiday joy. And boy did he come through with a @kingstvodka tree that we will now have to recreate every year!”

Hudson raised a glass to the Christmas tree made of vodka bottles Sunday. The 41-year-old wrote: “And now begins the slow “so long” to Christmas until I take our decorations down in February…”

As for why she chose to launch a vodka brand, the actress explained: “I have always found the spirits industry fascinating, and I love Dirty Vodka Martinis. The creative side of me thought it would be a fun challenge to develop a vodka for my palate, and in a beautiful package that I would love to have on my bar and share with friends. The businessperson in me is now looking forward to the challenge of building a brand in an entirely new industry.”
