Mollydooker Wines appoints Chief Commercial Officer

Mollydooker Wines has appointed Matt Taylor as its Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created role to support the growing brand.

Reporting to CEO and founder Sarah Marquis, Taylor comes from executive leadership roles including CEO at Oakridge Wines, Executive Marketing Director at Yalumba and has extensive international drinks industry experience with SABMiller in Central Europe and Latin America.

Taylor will now lead Mollydooker’s Sales, Marketing and Operational areas including strategic planning.

“Throughout his career Matt has demonstrated the ability to build winning and engaged teams, which perfectly suits the culture we are growing here at Mollydooker”, Sarah Marquis said. “With his extensive experience and shared connection to our vision and values, we are looking forward to his amazing input into our team and the brand.”

Taylor added: “I’m very excited to have joined the iconic Mollydooker Wines. It is a great place to work, has an enviable footprint in the US and an outstanding track record in all things ‘direct to consumer’. I look forward to working with the team to help take Mollydooker to the next level in its incredible journey.”

Mollydooker sells about 50% of its wine in the US, 25% in Australia and 25% in countries including South Korea, Denmark, Germany and Canada. It also has its own importing company in the US, with about 70% of its distribution through major retail outlets such as Costco and Trader Joe’s.

Mollydooker concluded “for those who are wondering, yes, Matt is a left hander” – a reference to the winery’s name, which comes from an old Australian slang word for a left-handed person. Left-handed Marquis launched Mollydooker with her former husband, Sparky, in 2005.
