House of Arras reveals two new wines

House of Arras has announced the inaugural release of two new entry-point sparkling wines: Origin South Brut Cuvée and A by Arras Rosé.

Origin South Brut Cuvée will be available exclusively at premium Liquorland, First Choice and Vintage Cellars stores nationally from October 2021. A by Arras Rosé will be available exclusively in Dan Murphy’s from August 26, 2021.

The wines join Brut Elite Cuvée 1601, Grand Vintage 2013, Blanc de Blancs 2013 and E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2006.

House of Arras Chief Winemaker Ed Carr said: “The 2013 vintage wines – Grand Vintage 2013 and Blanc de Blancs 2013 – are particularly exciting. Both are distinct expressions of the spectacular Tasmanian vineyards they were sourced from, classic in style with a perfect balance that will continue to age gracefully. This year’s collection also features the Brut Elite Cuvée 1601, an elegant multi-vintage blend that is now in its 10th release.

With its age-old soils, cooler temperatures, long summer days and maritime influences, Tasmania is widely regarded as one of the most remarkable sparkling wine regions in the world. House of Arras only sources Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes from the most exceptional vineyards, harnessing the character and expression of each sub-region to craft world-class sparkling wines.

“Globally, consumers increasingly recognise that Tasmanian sparkling sits right up there alongside the likes of Champagne and other benchmark sparkling wines of similar age,” said Carr. “Aside from the fact that House of Arras wines are enriched by exceptional length in tirage, the superb quality of our grapes can be entirely attributed to Tasmania’s second-to-none environment. It’s truly a place like no other.”

Late last year, the E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2004 was named ‘Sparkling Wine of the Year 2020’ by Decanter Magazine – one of the world’s leading and most influential wine experts and publications.

Earlier this year, Decanter again awarded House of Arras top honours in its 2021 World Wine Awards, with E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2006 and Vintage Rosé 2008 taking home 97 points each. House of Arras Grand Vintage 2013 followed closely with 93 points, and the Blanc de Blancs 2013 and Brut Elite Cuvée 1601 both received 89 points.

House of Arras’ latest vintage sparkling wines – Brut Elite Cuvée 1601, Grand Vintage 2013, Blanc de Blancs 2013 and E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2006 – will be available at fine wine retailers nationwide and online at www.houseofarras.com.au from September 2, 2021.
