The 2023 edition of the PATRÓN Perfectionists program only has two weeks left to enter and is closing on September 30.
The entry challenge, Paint the World PATRÓN Paloma, asks bartenders to create a PATRÓN Paloma, worthy of their favorite global city and of PATRÓN Tequila’s unwavering commitment to the highest quality ingredients.
The cocktail must feature PATRÓN Reposado, soda water, a creative cordial flavoured as the bartender likes, grapefruit in some form and be inspired by their city of choice.
Shortlisted entries will then make their cocktail for Alex Godfrey in their own venue. The ten best entries will go
forward to the National Final.
The Australian winner will have their name carved into our champions trophy, receive $5000, a trip of a lifetime to Hacienda PATRÓN in March 2024 for an experience-filled week with their fellow global finalists, a surprise panel of global mentors, judges, and the Familia PATRÓN in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.
Building on the long-standing commitment to inspiring and nurturing the hospitality industry, the PATRÓN Perfectionists program has further enriched its digital hub – Academia PATRÓN – providing an engaging educational ecosystem and access to mentoring sessions with the world’s leading on-trade personalities, including Matt Whiley from Re.
.

To inspire Australian bartenders PATRÓN asked Matt Whiley from Re (above left) and reigning Australian Perfectionists winner Alex Boon (above right) to take on the entry challenge.
Matt created ‘Six hours in Shanghai’, a take on a spicy paloma utilising lacto fermented grapefruit, grapefruit vinegar and a grapefruit cordial. Alex Boon was inspired by European memories to craft his PATRÓN paloma ‘Afternoon in Florence’ incorporating a bitter aperitif style grapefruit cordial.
