September is Australian Organic Awareness Month and wine brand Atmata is celebrating by releasing two new varietals: a Sparkling and a Chardonnay.
“Conscious consumption is a trend that isn’t going away,” said Atmata Brand Manager Dora Cameron.
“Consumers are more aware of what they put in their bodies and where it comes from. We are proud to be producing wines that are respectful of our environment and allow Aussies to choose to enjoy a drink in a way that best suits their lifestyle choices”
Atmata – meaning ‘essence from nature’ – is 100% organic from vine-to-bottle and is also vegan-friendly. Cultivated in harmony with nature and crafted with minimal intervention, the grapes for these wines are sourced from the highest quality organic vineyards across Australia and include regions of Glenrowan, Adelaide Plains and Currency Creek.
All the vineyards have been tended to without the use of synthetic chemicals, sprays, fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides, or any other products that are not naturally occurring.
Winemaker Liz Kooij said: “Organic Sparkling and Chardonnay varietals are relatively unexplored spaces in the organic
wine industry, and we aim to create organic wines that suits all consumer tastes and occasions.”
According to Atmata, the sparkling has a vivious and refreshing effervescence with subtle white blossom and pear aromas. On palate, hints of green apples, citrus and a slight creaminess lead to a lively and crisp finish.
The Chardonnay is refreshingly medium bodied with a soft and zesty mouthfeel. Hints of lemon citrus and white fruit aromas are accompanied by a palate of crunchy apples and a crisp acidity. Serve lightly chilled. A perfect aperitif and a great pairing with Asian cuisine, seafood dishes and creamy pasta.
The new varietals join a Rose, Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc in the Atmata portfolio. They are available at selected independent retailers nationally for a RRP of $20.
