The premium spirit producer behind Idle Hour Vodka and Tequila Soldada has unveiled its first dark spirit: Lamplighter Single Malt Tasmanian Whisky.

Superdrop Founder and Director Ewen Pettit said: “We’re thrilled to introduce Lamplighter Single Malt Tasmanian
Whisky to the world, showcasing the craftsmanship and quality that are synonymous with our brands.”

The launch follows a recent report which showcases the national whisky market expected growth of 0.87% CAGR (2024-28).

Lamplighter Tasmanian Single Malt American Oak and Red Wine Cask is the flagship expression, combining the richness of American Oak with the complexity of red wine cask maturation. The whisky features a medium toast and char atop sweet aromas, offering vanilla and caramel notes, spice and a subtle fruitiness.

“Our goal with Lamplighter was to present a whisky that not only reflects Tasmania’s unique terroir but also delivers a truly world-class drinking experience,” Pettit said.

“Lamplighter represents the culmination of years of dedication and expertise. We’re proud to share this exceptional whisky with consumers nationwide, inviting them to experience the incomparable craftsmanship and distinct flavours of Tasmania.”

The whisky is available nationwide at Vintage Cellars stores, retailing at $120.
