Loire Wines are joining Sydney’s 2024 Good Food and Wine Show in partnership with Taste France, hosting five masterclasses.
Taking place from 21-23 June 2024 at the Sydney International Convention Centre, the Sydney Good Food and Wine Show is a three-day festival showcasing some of best food and drink available in Australia.
This is the first year Loire Wines will be attending the Sydney edition of the festival. Its masterclasses will be hosted by Cassandra Charlick, an award-winning wine expert based in Margaret River, and will provide consumers with an in-depth knowledge of key aspects of Loire Wines’ identity.
The masterclasses will begin with ‘From Source to Glass: A Terroir Journey Along the river Loire’ during which Charlick will take participants on a journey spanning the 800km making up the Loire River, exploring in more detail how the climate and
landscape makes these wines unique.
Meanwhile, the masterclasses ‘Rosé Moments’ and ‘Exploring Loire’s Sparkling Wonders’ will provide consumers with everything they need to know about some of the Loire’s most iconic products: their rosé wines (notably Rosé d’Anjou and Cabernet d’Anjou) and their sparkling wines(Crémant de Loire, sparkling Vouvray and Saumur, among others).
The rosé masterclass will focus largely on pairing Loire rosé wines with world foods: showcasing the diversity within wines from this region.
For those new to Loire wines, the ‘Seasonal Showcase’ masterclass will be devoted to highlighting how wines from the Loire can easily be adapted depending on the seasons, giving consumers insights into which Loire wines work best at what time of
year.
For consumers keen on the environment, the ‘Loire is Leading the Way’ masterclass aims to shine a light on the work winemakers in the Loire Valley are embarking on in order to remain as environmentally conscious as possible – with a range of biodynamic or organic wines to try.
