Felons Brewing releases two imperial stouts

The fourth instalment of Felons Imperial Stouts saga has landed just in time for the winter solstice, with the release of two new limited edition brews.

Felons 2024 Imperial Stout features a holographic can and aims to provide “an interstellar experience of alluring aniseed, smooth currents of dark chocolate, with an astronomical finish”.

“We’ve crafted a bold interpretation of the traditional style, brewed primarily using time tested ingredients, alongside the unconventional addition of roast Tibetan barley malt to inject an exotic charm to the already complex malt bill,” said Felons Head brewer and stout lover Lincoln Gibbs.

Felons’ other creation is the barrel aged Enjoy the Void, derived from the heavily toasted barrels of Archie Rose Single Malt Whisky. The brew took nine months to perfect, resulting an imperial stout with fine flavours of shortbread, liquorice, and white oak to circumnavigate all the senses.

Queensland craft brewer Felons Brewing Co is renowned for its barrel aged beers and won a Gold medal at the Melbourne Royal 2024 Australian International Beer Awards for its barrel aged Dark Distant Light.

“The barrel aged imperial stout is a revered style amongst brewers; a lot of work goes into them,” Gibbs said.

“Achieving a gold medal at the Australian International Beer Awards this year is testament to our meticulous efforts in refining the traditional process of barrel aging beer.”

Only 4000 cans of 2024 Imperial Stout made and 200 bottles of Enjoy the Void in bottle have been produced. You will find the imperial stouts online or in the fridges of these select good bottle shops across Australia.
