San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWC) has announced its finalists for the best bourbons of 2024, with the winner to be revealed in October.

Six straight bourbons made the list, with SWFC saying each offering unique tasting experiences and embodying the artistry of bourbon distillation. 

George T. Stagg Straight Bourbon

SFWC said: “This bourbon delivers a powerful punch with creamy notes of chocolate and brown sugar, creating a richly layered tasting experience. The intricate structure and bold flavors make it a favorite among bourbon enthusiasts who appreciate intensity and depth.”

Jim Beam Black Extra-Aged Bourbon

SFWC said: “Aged longer than the standard Jim Beam, this bourbon provides notes of tropical fruit with a slightly bitter undertone, delivering a smooth and balanced sip.”

Brother’s Bond Bottled-In-Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey

SFWC said: “Brother’s Bond Bottled-In-Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey is crafted by the famous duo Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley. This bourbon features notes of caramel, vanilla, and spice, with a smooth, oaky finish.”

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C923

SFWC said: “Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C923 is celebrated for its bold and rich flavor profile. This high-proof bourbon boasts flavors of rich caramel, toasted oak, and dark chocolate, providing a robust and warming experience.”

Evan Williams Black

Wild Turkey Rare Breed

SFWC said: “Wild Turkey Rare Breed is a high-proof bourbon known for its deep and smoky flavor profile. It features notes of caramel, vanilla, and spices, creating a rich and layered taste. The deep, smoky finish adds a distinctive character.”
