Drinks Digest has created Sydney Cocktails, a book that pays homage to the innovative cocktails and bartenders that make the city’s nightlife so memorable.
The elegant collection of drink recipes and bartender profiles from the city’s favourite haunts traverses every corner of the city, from north to south, east, west and everywhere in between. It aims to help readers drink like a local whether they’re visiting Sydney or entertaining at home.

From tiki bars to 70s-inspired retro lounges, locals and travellers alike will discover new watering holes that are sure to satisfy all tastes. With signature creations by prominent mixologists, the book offers a detailed rundown of the best locations Sydney has to offer.

Drinks Digest founder and editor Alana House has authored the book. She has lived in Sydney for more than 25 years, including 10 years as a drinks writer, and was recently a judge at the Australian Gin Awards.
“Thank you to the bar managers, bartenders and owners who generously contributed their fantastic recipes and photos to this book,” House said.
“And cheers to Sydney for serving up so many world-class bars in such stunning locations, staffed by some of the most talented bartenders in the business.”

Sydney Cocktails joins a series of Cider Mill Press books that traverse the world of cocktails, from Paris to Tokyo, New Orleans, London and beyond.
The series aim to inspire travel to explore the world’s best bars, while also taking at-home bartending to the next level by learning to make professional drinks that have consistently wowed customers around the globe.
Whether you have a reverence for the classics or a passion for concocting new and exciting flavours, these recipes guarantee you’ll have a drink for every occasion.
Sydney Cocktails is available from good bookshops, including Abbey’s and Harry Hartog and online stores such as Booktopia. It can also be purchased on Amazon here.
