Johnnie Walker introduces Black Ruby

The latest permanent addition to the Johnnie Walker whisky portfolio – Black Ruby – has launched in Australia.

The spirit has been crafted by Master Blender Dr Emma Walker who sought to create a new Scotch whisky that pushed Johnnie Walker Black Label’s most indulgently sweet and smooth notes to centre stage. It delivers a fruit-forward malt, resulting from maturation in ex-wine, ex-PX Oloroso and ex-bourbon casks, alongside smooth caramel malts from Roseisle.

Designed to embrace the cocktail revolution, serving suggestions include elevating a classic Whisky Sour into a Johnnie Walker Black Ruby Sour with raspberry syrup and fresh raspberries as a garnish. Or switch things up with a Black Ruby Negroni, Black Ruby Ramble or Black Ruby Collins.

The spirit has a 40% ABV and an RRP of $80. It’s available for purchase now at retailers including First Choice, Liquor Land, Dan Murphy’s (from mid-July) and independent liquor stores across Australia.
