Denomination opens New York office

Award-winning drinks design company Denomination has opened an office in New York City, its fourth global location.

Denomination already has offices in Sydney, London and San Francisco. Its accolades include being named Drinks Agency of the Year by Harper’s Wine and Spirits in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The announcement comes alongside new leadership appointments, with Hamish Campbell joining the company as VP Executive Creative Director in NYC, leading the US business alongside US Managing Director Meghan Read.

Ellie Hansen has also joined as Managing Director Sydney & Global Chief Growth Officer, driving global growth for Denomination.

Campbell spent a decade leading the strategic design on iconic brands such as Wild Turkey and was also involved in the inception of Seedlip Drinks. He has worked across multiple drinks brands at companies including Campari Group, Diageo, Bacardi, Brown-Forman and Beam Suntory.

Hansen returned to Australia this month after nine years in NYC. She has worked for more than 25 years for clients such as Beam Suntory, Pernod Ricard, Diageo and Mizkan America. She will lead the Sydney business as MD, as well as work across the company’s global clients.

Denomination CEO and co-founder Rowena Curlewis (pictured main) said: “We have spent the past 22 years building a reputation for successful drinks brands that are distinctive, desirable, drinkable – and sustainable.

“We are privileged to work with leading drinks brands across the world, and the addition of this NYC office will allow us to get even closer to US Mid West and East Coast spirits and beer clients. At the same time, our clients around the world will benefit from the incredible creative talent and drinks expertise that Hamish and Ellie will bring to our global team.”

The agency’s recent projects include working in partnership with the innovation team at Carlton & United Breweries, introducing Great Northern Brewing Co’s new premium beer brand, Long Run; developing the Dolly Parton range for Accolade Wines; and Treasury Wine Estates’ 19 Crimes and Italian wine range Belorante.
