Hendrick’s Gin is celebrating the launch of its limited edition GRAND CABARET with a series of soirees filled with music, burlesque and acrobatics at Sydney’s The Emerald Room.

GRAND CABARET is inspired by a fruit-based libation served at fashionable Parisian parties in the early 1900s.

“I’m always looking for inspiration and this time I found it leafing through historical recipes for stone fruit spirits – eau de vies, peach schnapps, cherry liqueurs and the like – when those indulgent stone fruit flavours were really the ‘in thing’ for those that had the means to celebrate in spectacular style,” Hendrick’s Master Distiller Lesley Gracie said.

“I played around and found that when you put these different stone fruit flavours together, they give you a nice rich depth of flavour. I added sweet herbs to round the vibrant fruit out. It’s the first time I’ve experimented with stone fruits and I love how it adds a decadent depth of flavour, whilst maintaining a refreshing lightness.”

Hendrick’s Gin has collaborated with The Emerald Room in Darlinghurst to present a series of exclusive cabaret shows during October, which offer gin enthusiasts an immersive journey into the world of GRAND CABARET.

Drinks Digest attended opening night and it was an unforgettable evening, filled with delicious cocktails and fabulous entertainment.

Inspired by Paris’ Crazy Horse and NYC’s The Box, living bouquets of flowers welcome guests to the show, guiding them to their seats to encounter a cast of characters representing a variety of unique gin garnishes – from cucumbers to raspberries, limes and pineapples.
