Mumm Napa Prestige Cuvée has arrived in Australia as part of the Mumm Terroirs collection.

The sparking wine is a blend of 49% Pinot Noir, 46% Chardonnay, together small amounts of Pinot Gris and Pinot
Meunier, and is made in the famed Napa Valley north of San Francisco by Head Winemaker Tami Lotz (below).

The grapes for the Mumm Napa Prestige Cuvée were harvested during the cool, crisp Napa mornings to preserve the delicate aromas and flavours. After gentle pressing, the juice underwent cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks then the base wines were blended, before secondary fermentation in the bottle. Fine bubbles and complex flavours developed after an average of 24 months on lees and finally a carefully calibrated dosage was added to finish the wine.

The Mumm Terroirs sparkling wine collection holds the number one position in over $30 premium sparkling and is continuing to drive the segment’s growth according to owner Pernod Ricard.

Pernod Ricard Australia Marketing Director Kristy Rutherford said: “We’ve seen the remarkable growth of super premium sparklings from the new world in the last few years. Mumm Marlborough Brut Prestige reached shelves in 2020, followed by the popular launch of Mumm Tasmania in 2022, and more recently the expansion into Central Otago with the Mumm Central Otago Blanc de Noirs and Mumm Central Otago Pinot Noir.

“The Napa Valley sparkling displays aromas of red apple, cherry, orange and freshly baked bread, with red fruits like plum and cherry, plus toasted bread on the very long palate. The wine is great drinking on its own, but is also great paired with chargrilled seafood and salads.

“The US have been in love with Mumm Napa sparklings for 40 years now, and we are thrilled to welcome Mumm Napa Prestige Cuvée to the Terroirs collection in time for the Australian summer season.”
