Mountain Culture’s Status Quo Pale Ale has been voted as Australia’s number one craft beer for the third year running in the GABS Hottest 100.

Competition was fierce, with nearly 400 of Australia’s best craft breweries in the 17th GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll and around 55,000 consumers registering to cast their votes.

Nearly 1500 beers were in the mix, with 70 different breweries making it on to the list.

Mountain Culture, which recently announced Australian cricket hero Pat Cummins as an investor, matched an incredible feat that has only been achieved once before by Feral’s Hop Hog in 2012-2014.

Taking out second place was Coopers Pale Ale, with two time previous champion and Gold Coast favourite, Balter’s XPA, completing the podium line-up.

Coopers said: “Cheers to helping us get to number two in GABS Festival’s Hottest 100 of Beers! A big thank you if you voted for us. Cheers to great Australian-made brews especially the pale ones.”
