Tourism Australia has supported the production of a six-part television series called Gary Barlow’s Food & Wine Tour: Australia, filmed during the singer’s recent tour with Take That.
Wineries featured include Western Australia’s Cullen Wines and Howard Park and the Hunter Valley’s Bimbadgen.

The first episode focuses on Sydney and regional NSW. It features Barlow sampling visitor experiences including cruising around Sydney Harbour and walking on Bondi Beach, touring the Sydney Opera House with Tim Minchin, sampling Indigenous food at Midden by Mark Olive, tasting oysters on the coast and sipping wines in the Hunter Valley.

Barlow is a wine aficionado and has his own range called Gary Barlow Organic, produced in collaboration with Benchmark Drinks. He filmed an initial series, Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour: South Africa, last year that saw him travelling across the country and visiting vineyards along the way.
A preview screening of the new series was held at the Australian High Commission in London ahead of its premiere on UK television on 11 April 2025.
The event turned the basement of Australia House into a cinema, with guests walking a green and gold carpet, posing with mascot Ruby the Roo in front of a Come & Say G’Day photo wall and enjoying Australia-inspired canapés and wines featured in the series Ten Minutes by Tractor.
The evening was opened by Deputy High Commissioner Elisabeth Bowes while Barlow spoke about his passion for Australia’s culinary offering and winemaking, before being inducted into the Friends of Australia program.
Tourism Australia and the State Tourism Offices of NSW, Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and Victoria partnered to support the production.
Tourism Australia said: “This is the first time Tourism Australia, and the State Tourism Offices have invested in a television series on this scale since 2019, so we’re thrilled to see Australia back on screens in the UK.
“We know from our tourism partners in the UK that broadcast still wields enormous influence with British travellers, who do pick up the phone and book the incredible journeys they see on screen.”
The series is sponsored by the UK’s largest independent travel agency, Hays Travel.
Lisa McAuley at Hays Travel said: “We are delighted to sponsor Gary Barlow’s Food and Wine Tour: Australia, with ITV and our partners at Tourism Australia. It’s a perfect fit for us, linking our work to increase long-haul bookings with the strong relationship we have with Tourism Australia.
“With customers keen to see more of the world and enjoy new experiences we have seen growth in interest and bookings for Australia. So that agents in our retail branches have all the knowledge and skills they need to help customers we have worked with Tourism Australia to roll out a comprehensive training programme, which has been hugely popular and very well received.”
The series is screening in the United Kingdom on ITV1 and will be available to watch on demand on ITVX.
