Australia scoops world’s best gin & whisky awards

Three Australian gin, whisky and mixer producers have been crowned the world’s best at the global SIP Awards 2025.

Australian Distilling Co. Fremantle Gin, Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky, Mr Consistent Chilli Margarita and Mr Consistent Hemmingway Daiquiri all won Best of Class Platinum trophies at the awards.

The SIP Awards is consumer-judged spirits competition that has been showcasing entries from around the world for the past 17 years.

The 2025 competition welcomed more than 1300 entries from 47 countries, spanning categories including whiskey, vodka, gin, tequila, rum, mezcal, liqueurs, cognac, RTDs, cocktail mixers, non-alcoholic spirits and more.

Judging was carried out by 297 spirit enthusiasts through a double-blind process. Evaluation took place via curated tasting kits which allowed participants to review spirits in a distraction-free environment as well as through a live tasting event
featuring a wide selection of spirits and mixers.

“The 2025 results show how much talent and passion exist in the spirits world right now,” said SIP Awards founder Pouya
Hashemi.

“We’re proud to give a voice to the consumer and to spotlight brands that truly connect with real people.”

It was the third year Australian Distilling Co as been awarded world’s best, after winning Platinum Best in Class for Geelong Gin last year and Adelaide Gin in 2022.

In keeping with Australian Distilling Co.’s tradition to capture the essence of Australian cities in its premium spirits, Fremantle Gin pays tribute to its heritage with hints of black pepper, cardamom and nutmeg resting on a bed of classic botanicals, a nod to the time when the markets of Fremantle would smell of these ‘exotic’ spices.

This warmth is contrasted by the freshness of peppermint gum and menthol capturing the spirit of ‘The Doctor’ – the cooling
breeze that blows in over the city every summer afternoon.

“We are thrilled be awarded world’s best gin for the third time,” said Australian Distilling Co. Founder Michael Hickinbotham.

“The SIP Awards are judged by consumers, representing top international honours from an audience that matters most to us – people who drink gin.

“It’s a privilege to receive this recognition for our Australian crafted spirits, endorsing our commitment to producing premium products of the highest standards.”

Archie Rose Rye Malt Whisky’s Best of Class Platinum follows Archie Rose Bone Dry Gin taking out a Master Medal at The Global Gin Masters 2025.

“Safe to say, we’re stoked. A huge cheers to our distilling team for raising the bar for Australian spirits on the international stage once again,” Archie Rose said.

Mr Consistent Chilli Margarita won Best of Class Platinum in the Margarita Mixer category, while it’s Hemmingway Daiquiri won Best of Class in the Other Cocktail Mixer category.

Jeremy Davidson, Jarred Bell and Mikey Sebire co-founded Mr Consistent on the Gold Coast in 2020, with the original idea for the product being to create an easier way for hospitality staff to make cocktails for large crowds quickly.

The range has gone on to be a roaring success in the off-premise and has expanded globally.
