The Jack Daniel Distillery has launched Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old in Australia – the brand’s first aged expression made available outside of the United States.
The inaugural release for the Jack Daniel’s new Aged Series, Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old has been handcrafted by Master Distiller Chris Fletcher, with just under 3000 bottles available.
Fletcher said: “Bringing our first-ever aged stated whiskey to markets outside of the U.S. marks an exciting new chapter
for Jack Daniel’s.
“Over the past decade, we’ve worked tirelessly to craft a whiskey that not only reflects the depth and character of our early releases, but also speaks to the global demand for premium and high-quality whiskey. This release is a tribute to our heritage, inspired by the past and crafted with the expertise of today.
“Australia is home to some of our most passionate fans and the world’s most discerning whiskey drinkers. Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Old is the perfect whiskey for them, showcasing the true craftsmanship and quality that only Jack can offer.”
Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old features the same ingredients and process as the Jack Daniel’s iconic Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey – 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, which is mellowed drop by drop through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before entering handmade, oak barrels.
Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old barrels are aged in the upper floors of the Jack Daniel’s barrelhouse in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the maturation process is intensified. The barrels are then methodically relocated to the lower levels,
extending the aging process and deepening the flavour profile.
The result is a 97% proof whiskey (48.5% ABV) with a unique and intense character featuring notes of rich molasses, chocolate and spice, paired with a long, warm finish.
Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old will be available in a 700ml bottle for a suggested retail price of $150 from August. Learn where you can secure a bottle here.
