The Barberhood celebrates 10 years with new gin bar location

Sydney’s cult grooming institution The Barberhood is celebrating its 10th anniversary by opening a new location — inside The Barbershop – Original Gin Bar.

With flagship stores in O’Connell Street and Martin Place, this marks The Barberhood’s third CBD outpost and a collaboration that brings together two leaders in Sydney’s grooming and hospitality scenes.

Located at 89 York Street, The Barber Shop is part of the Barrelhouse Group and houses an impressive collection of more than 700 gins from all corners of the globe.

The Barberhood Director Renée Baltov said: “We’ve always admired [Barrelhouse Director] Mikey Enright’s ability to create a space that feels considered, premium and inviting. Bringing our next store into the Gin Bar felt like the perfect evolution.”

Enright said: “The Barberhood represents excellence in modern grooming. Renée has built something truly respected, and it’s a privilege to have them here at York Street.”

The Barberhood’s signature services include hot lather shaves with scented towels, sharp fades, line-ups and tailored scissor cuts.

Meanwhile, The Barbershop – Original Gin Bar itself has had a fresh cut — rolling out a revamped cocktail list and seasonal menu, the perfect pairing to The Barberhood’s sharp grooming menu.
